Today, on a whim, I replaced the long-criticized win11 with win10, originally thinking that I didn’t have time, and I would do it after it stabilized, but there was always a pimple in my heart, so I just said to do it. If you want to solve the trackpad problem, you can directly jump.
1. Convert to win10
“Update” to win10 with official tools: Microsoft official tools, Step by step according to the official, the system disk will be formatted, the data disk will not, please back up in advance.
2. Convert to the Pro version※
Due to the needs of follow-up development, I plan to downgrade to win10 professional version, and ordinary users can use the home version. First, find the product key to upgrade to the professional version on the Internet: ‘VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T’, for specific use, you can watch this video: Windows 11 Home Edition Lossless to Professional Edition, Note that the key and the video introduction are different, the video is win11, but the process is the same.
3. Activation
Then download or copy the activation tool: Activation tool, For specific use, please watch this video: [Win10 Home Edition Upgraded to Professional Edition]。
4. Individual deployment
Then I installed some software, scripts and plugins that I personally use, and configured some computer settings. Although the data disk is not formatted, I thought I would sort it out casually.
5. Trackpad failure issues
At first, I didn’t find that the trackpad was invalid, but then I found customer service after finding out, and the customer service asked me to go to Mechanical Revolution official website to install the motherboard driver, but win10 and win11 motherboard drivers are not compatible, and the installation failed; Follow-up inquiry to customer service, customer service said that win10 is not compatible and please upgrade win11, then this is impossible for me, I have to find a way myself.
The first problem is that the trackpad does not work, find “Device Management” and find that there is a problem with the “I2C HID device” in the “Human Interface Device”: (Code 10) The device returned an invalid HID descriptor. Because I tried a lot of methods in the middle, I can’t be sure whether the useless work in the middle has an impact on the final effect, so I describe them one by one:
(1) Update the driver, download “Driver Genie” and “Driver Master” from the Wuai forum, and update all the drivers that can be updated. (Invalid)
(2) Go to the AMD official website to download the driver and update the CPU driver (seeing the CPU driver in a certain post may have an impact). (Invalid)
(3) Uninstall the device and restart the computer. (Invalid)
(4) Disable the device and restart the device. (Invalid)
(5) Use Microsoft Official Method. (Invalid)
(6) Someone from Tieba, Microsoft Community, Reddit, and Zhihu has made some analysis, but there is no good way to solve my situation, here is a problem analysis supplement:

(7) ==Final solution==, I boldly tried to install the latest BIOS directly from Mechanical Revolution official website, and installed the OSD driver first in the order of this video. Finally, after the black screen was stuck for a long time (I really sweated), I forced the power button to turn on, successfully rescuing the computer and trackpad, and also came with the benefits of the ‘Fn + Esc’ lock function key in the video.
6. Follow-up
After restarting the computer, although the trackpad function is back, the C drive has an inexplicably extra yellow exclamation mark, and I found this method to solve it: What is the yellow exclamation mark and small lock that appear on the Win11 hard drive - -Super Rookie- - Blog Garden。
